Madam, - As a daily commuter from the midlands to Dublin, I feel compelled to say how disheartened I am to see what type of society we seem to be living in.
I am now in my seventh month of pregnancy and I note that not once has a male offered me a seat on the train or the bus during this time. On the other hand, women have sometimes offered up their seat, which I have sometimes gratefully accepted.
Perhaps if men could imagine constantly having to carry around something the size of a large watermelon every day, they might just offer us pregnant women a seat!
Come on lads, surely there is some chivalry left in this country! - Yours, etc.,
