Sir, - I congratulate MaevAnn Wren on her excellent "From the Doorstep" article in your edition of March 6th. In a few thoughtful, informed and intelligent paragraphs, she castigates the whole basis of the new savings scheme and questions the so-called "social justice" ethos of Charlie McCreevy, Mary Harney and Dermot Ahern - ultimately the responsibility of the so-called Taoiseach (does that mean "leader"?), Bertie Ahern.
If ever a body needed a breath of fresh air and an indication that someone, somewhere actually understands how current systems and schemes are suffocating people like myself, I do. So I am eternally grateful to MaevAnn Wren for her honesty, passion and sense of real justice. - Yours, etc.,
