Sir, - I live 100 yards from the Liffey and cross it daily. I have done so for most of my life and am constantly refreshed by the vista afforded down river from Grattan Bridge.
There is absolutely no need for a new pedestrian bridge between Eustace Street and the North Quays. Such a piece of visual vandalism, were it allowed to be built, would indeed be a symbol of modern Dublin - a city that, if it were left to those hungry for money from Europe, would be quickly sold down the river. - Yours, etc., Gerald Davis,
