Sir - The taxi lobby would have us believe that there is already an ample supply of taxis to serve Dublin's needs, if only they could get through the traffic congestion. Can they explain how one of the largest operators was unable to honour a booking (made the previous day) for 06.45 on Sunday morning last because they had "nothing available", and why other companies contacted at 06.30 had at least a one hour backlog at that traffic-free hour? - Yours, etc., Gerry Morrisey,
