MOBILES ON THE ROADS

Sir, - In response to the letter of Billy Fleming (February 4th), I would like to share his views on the dangers of talking on hand held mobiles in moving vehicles. His idea of "Operation Freefone" is excellent.

However, I should point out that the explosion in the use of mobile phones would not have occurred without the substantial drop in the prices of hand held units. Unfortunately, this drop as not been mirrored in the cost of hands free car phone. units, which remain (in most cases) probably expensive.

Is there any possiblity that these prices will decrease to allow all of us who drive and use hand held mobiles to be safer motorists? Yours etc,
