Sir, – I really must object to the blatantly ageist and shortsist complaint by Jennifer Moore (September 24th) that “everywhere I go I see men (many of them past their prime) in shorts”. Is she by any chance trying to suggest that she would prefer instead not to see these men in shorts at all? – Yours, etc,
