Madam, - Two short memoirs by Robert Brennan, first published as a series in the Irish Press in 1958, have just been reissued in book form. This is the man whose very full c.v. includes: director of elections for Sinn Féin in 1918, first general manager of the Irish Press, novelist, dramatist, Wexford correspondent for The Irish Times, our Minister (ambassador) in Washington during the second World War and director of Radio Éireann.

His autobiography, Allegiance, dealing with the 1916-1922 period, is an extremely readable and interesting account of the time. Surely it is overdue for reissue.

Any takers? - Yours, etc.,

AINE NÍ CHONAILL,
