Sir, - Aine Ni Chonaill (Letters, December 28th) is absolutely right, and I stand corrected for my slip of the pen (December 20th) in writing "Litter Act" for "Litter Bill", and I am in total agreement with her re Civil Rights and the amendment of Section 21 of this Bill.
Unlike her, however, I do object to advertising leaflets on car wind screens, since these invariably end up pasted on to wet pavements. But I strongly object to election posters that add so abundantly to our litter mountain. I imagine that most thinking people know exactly for whom they are going to vote, so do aspiring TDs really believe that rows upon rows of their faces on lamp posts and walls will influence the electorate?
Such a waste of paper, and of - perhaps - Uncle Ben's largesse! - Yours, etc.,
Cartronkeel House,
Moate, Co Westmeath.
