Sir, - Might I suggest that some hitches which are bound to arise in operating a highly centralised system, involving large numbers, could be further reduced by the distribution to all who sit for the examination of a check list on which they would tick off each item of their contributions.
Before leaving the examination hall, the invigilator(s) would initial, and thereby confirm, the accuracy of each form. The forms would be retained by the examinees for reference purposes if so required for instance, in connection with any appeals.
The submission of such items as art and woodwork and/or the taking of oral tests would be registered separately. Would the implementation of this proposal not be worth the little extra trouble?
Yours, etc.,
Glen Lion House,
Baily, Co. Dublin.
