Keeping Irish as a core subject

 

A chara, – We, the undersigned Independent candidates for the 2011 general election fully support the study of the Irish language as a core subject in our education system. We believe all students are entitled to learn their national language.

If elected we pledge to give full support to the Irish language as one of the core subjects at Leaving Certificate level and maintain its current status as a minimum entry requirement to third-level courses. – Is muidne,
