Irish in the Korean War

Madam, - I am currently completing a book on Irish servicemen in the Korean War 1950-53

Madam, - I am currently completing a book on Irish servicemen in the Korean War 1950-53. While it deals with the history of the war, it is essentially a story told from the perspective of the men who were there.

Irish soldiers, volunteers and draftees served with the various United Nations forces, including American, British and Australian services, naval, air force, and army. Irish missionaries were also involved as they had a presence in Korea since the 1930s when the country was occupied by the Japanese.

Some of your readers might be able to help me with personal stories, reminiscences, family stories, photographs and documents. These can be sent to the address below and all material will be treated with the utmost care and returned. - Yours, etc,
