Sir, I cannot agree with Ruth Devine's complaints (June 16th) complaints about the new centre at Newgrange. I found the centre most informative, and the organisation of the whole area very efficient. All in all, it is what the visitor to Newgrange wants. Centres like this all round the country have helped to make Ireland an excellent holiday destination, recommended by most of the people who holiday here, both foreign and Irish.
It is unfortunate that there are always so many visitors to Newgrange during the season, I will agree, but it is one of the most important sites in Europe, and will always attract large numbers. We should count ourselves lucky that we can take the opportunity to visit this site during the low season, and really appreciate its construction and atmosphere. Yours, etc.,
