Madam, - I was informed today that the Irish Museum of Modern Art would not be able to assist me by allowing one of their staff to push my wheelchair around its galleries because of "health and safety" reasons.
To visit a gallery one either has to be fit and able or have a personal assistant. I have neither. It is ironic that IMMA has a policy of accessibility to all and indeed has five wheelchairs at the disposal of its patrons. Yet if you just happen to need a wheelchair you have to come equipped with a "pusher". This is a sad state of affairs. - Yours, etc,
ANN KENNEDY, Dominick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.
