Madam, – It is unfeeling of you, surely, to print a letter that only expresses self-delusion (“Global warming – more like global freeze”, December 28th).
The year is not quite over, but it is on course to be the hottest or equal hottest year on record. By Nasa’s figures the first 11 months of 2010 have been the warmest since the global record began 131 years ago, with the hottest November yet. Whatever changing wind patterns may do to our local climate, warming is a global affair, calculated by averages. Let us not now start denying arithmetic. – Yours, etc,
