Sir, – A British tourist, Paul Archer (October 29th), wrote about the dangers of walking on the roads in west Kerry. Presumably he was referring to the Dingle Way. Thirty per cent of this potentially magnificent route is on tarred public roads which as Mr Archer points out are, in may places extremely narrow. With more co-operation from landowners most of the roadway sections could be re-routed. Unfortunately nearly all the other Ways in the county and indeed everywhere in Ireland have similar problems.
Mr Archer states that Co Kerry is not catering for potential tourists. How right he is! Urgent action is required from the powers that be. – Yours, etc,
