A chara, - Martin Madden's view on The Irish Times coverage of the late Fr Sean Fortune (March 25th) is entirely wrong. He mocks the "tabloid" style of Alison O'Connor's reporting. She is not a tabloid reporter; but an investigative journalist. To suggest that because someone is dead we must only speak good is nonsense.
Fortune was a bullying paedophile who caused untold suffering on a community. Do we ignore this? While he was alive, there was a complete cover-up.
Thanks to the likes of Alison O'Connor we can now see the true hypocrisy that pervades the Catholic church today.
