Madam, - I refer to the report in your edition of February 25th describing Ryanair's huge expansion plans over the coming years. Alas, the company does not intend to include Dublin in its plans until there is a second airport terminal. However, there may be a solution.
Ryanair has been successful at changing the designation of the airport in Hahn to Frankfurt-Hahn - despite Hahn being 110 kilometres from Frankfurt. Perhaps the company has unwittingly highlighted an alternative to the building of another terminal in Dublin airport. Waterford, which has a fine but seriously under-used airport is only 158 kilometres from Dublin. I am sure Ryanair would have no problem in having it renamed as Dublin South. - Yours, etc.,
