Sir, - Considering our buoyant economy and the resulting labour shortages , I wonder why the bus drivers who are unhappy with their wages don't get out into the real world, where transport companies are crying out for drivers, and benefit from the Celtic Tiger that they feel has left them behind. They would then earn what they claim to want - a decent commercial rate.
Perhaps it is because commercial employers wouldn't tolerate their slack work practices and endless "sick days". They know how easy they have it, and so they stay put, unlike the poorly paid nurses who are leaving the profession in droves because they really believe they are underpaid. - Yours, etc.,
