Madam, – John Fleming (Opinon, September 10th) describes Vincent Keaney as a “graffiti artist” for his part in desecrating our former taoiseach’s grave.

However, any “artist”, graffiti or otherwise, will not view our current economic crisis as the legacy of Charles J Haughey. His true legacy, from a cultural point of view, is in the foundation of Irish Museum of Modern Art, the tax-free status for artists, the establishment of Aosdána, the regeneration of Temple Bar as a “cultural quarter” and the endless National Lottery Funds that were funnelled into the arts during his reign. May he rest in peace? – Yours, etc,
