Sir, - "To kill a man," Victor Hugo said, "is murder; to murder a nation is a question" - a question to be answered by future historians.

To defeat Milosevic and save the credibility of the already discredited NATO the Clintons and the Blairs are unscrupulously sacrificing the entire Yugoslav nation. The repeated claims that NATO bombs only military targets and that is has no quarrel with the Serbian people is wearing thin; indeed, it is becoming nauseating in the extreme.

The continuation of these murderous air strikes, and the inevitable loss of innocent lives, the senseless destruction of the country's infrastructure and of the basic necessities of life (such as water and electricity supplies), is tantamount to murdering a nation. And, together with Milosevic, the Clintons and the Blairs will be judged as the murderers of the Yugoslav nation. - Yours, etc., P. S. Florides,
