Crisis facing Catholic Church

Madam, – “The evil that men do lives after them, The good is oft interred with their bones

Madam, – “The evil that men do lives after them, The good is oft interred with their bones.” I would like to apply Shakespeare’s maxim to the present crisis in the Catholic Church.

Faced with so many distressing statistics surrounding the terrible crime of clerical child sex abuse, we need to spare a thought for the vast majority of Catholic priests who have been working tirelessly and faithfully for their communities over the years. Let us support them now at this difficult time, let us show we appreciate them, let us highlight the good they do, so that it will not be forgotten. – Yours, etc,
