A chara, - With reference to the proposed "invasion" of Clare by Limerick, I would like to make the following points. First, the county "identity" runs far deeper than is realised, especially by civil servants in the Department of the Environment, and the Minister should realise this.
RTE and the media in general have lost us our sovereignty years ago, but the time has finally come to make a stand. Clare people are known for geniality and warmth, as is reflected in our music, but this is going to turn sour as the "Siege of Ennis" is going to be in fact the "Siege of Clare".
We have lost soil in the past, e.g. we let the Aran Islands go to Galway, but only after a fierce fight and heavy losses. The present battle will be no exception. To hear the manager of the Limerick County Hurling Team say that Claremen would be proud to wear a Limerick jersey has been taken as declaration of war.
An Clar Abu!!!!
Yahahohoooooooooooo!!!!
