Madam, - The media and politicians - particularly Green Party members - constantly refer to our "carbon footprint" and say we should be doing all we can to "reduce, reuse and recycle".
So where are these eco-friendly enthusiasts at this time of the year when the national grid is under pressure because of the thousands of Christmas lights that will be lit in practically every house street and shopping centre all over the country?
This is not a case of "bah, humbug". As a teacher, I am constantly telling children about saving energy. How are they supposed to believe me when there's a blatant waste of energy all around us? - Yours, etc,
