Aftermath Of Nurses' Strike

Sir, -, A letter from Dr B

Sir, -, A letter from Dr B. McLoughlin (November 4th) commences: "Nurses have never been best known for their intelligence, and recent letters from the sisters in white only confirm why this is so." I could not read any further - not because I have a daughter who is a nurse, but because it is immediately clear that its author is determined to be grossly offensive. I ask: why do you publish such a letter? I hope you don't do so simply to generate some heated correspondence. You should have ignored Dr McLoughlin's letter altogether, and spared your readers. That kind of letter only sets nurses against doctors, doctors against nurses, and is of no help to anyone. - Yours, etc.,
