Madam, - I think the suggestion of Senator David Norris that the Abbey Theatre should be relocated to the GPO (July 30th) does have some merit.
Since 1916, the GPO has been the site of much fable and drama, in particular since 1935, when Eamon De Valera made it the prime location for the national celebration of the 1916 Rebellion.
Also, the apparent occupation of the building by legendary numbers of men and women of the rebel army suggests that audience capacity would not be a problem. - Yours, etc,
