Madam, – Some weeks ago, while watching a wildlife programme, the death of a gorilla was described as “murder”. A few days ago, an ape gave birth in Dublin Zoo, there was considerable discussion as to whether the “new arrival” was a “boy” or “girl”. The sex was finally established “a little boy”, and “mum” is also healthy (Home News, April 15th). Frankly I’m on tenterhooks waiting for details of the “christening” which I’m sure will merit inclusion in your “Social and Personal” column. – Yours, etc,
