Madam, – Maureen Eilish Purcell (October 30th) saw a report on the British prime minister’s question time to a full parliament. She then saw on RTÉ a debate in the Dáil chamber which wasn’t full. Maybe if she tuned in to RTÉ while our Taoiseach is answering questions twice a week she would see that the chamber is always full then. And if she has access to British satellite TV she would be able to see debates in the British parliament take place in an almost empty chamber.

People have got to learn that 166 TDs sitting and bickering in the Dáil chamber will not fix the economy no matter who’s in charge. – Yours, etc,
