An article in yesterday’s edition stated incorrectly that 49 asylum seekers had taken their own lives while staying in direct provision centres over the past decade. In fact, 49 is the number of deaths of asylum seekers occurring over this period, and there are no figures on the cause of death.
An article in the edition of May 26th, concerning the Matisse art books on show at the Chester Beatty Library, reported incorrectly that “strict copyright rules from the Matisse estate mean that only part of the image may be printed or broadcast”. Photographs taken in the library’s gallery may only show the artworks on display if they are part of the background or are otherwise incidental but the Matisse estate does not restrict the publication of full images.
An article in the edition of June 1st, concerning offices to let at Powerscourt House in Wicklow, said that the previous tenants, Redstone Technology, had moved to new premises in order to accommodate a larger workforce. In fact Redstone moved because it was acquired by the PFH Technology Group and moved to PFH’s new offices in Sandyford, Co Dublin.
