A 17-year old youth was abducted and shot in the leg in Co Antrim last night.
Shortly before midnight the youth was approached by a number of masked men as he walked in Castlemara, in Carrickfergus. He was taken to Fergus Avenue where he was shot.
The incident is not thought to be sectarian. An RUC spokesman said bore the hallmarks of a paramilitary attack.
