A woman who sexually assaulted a five-year-old girl when she herself was 14 has been warned by Judge Patrick McCartan that she risks being jailed for disobeying a court order.
The north Co Dublin woman, now 20 and a mother of two, was previously ordered by Judge McCartan to leave the area in which she and the victim live, but she has repeatedly returned to the locality recently. The defendant pleaded guilty in 1996 to three charges of sexually assaulting the girl on dates unknown between January and December 1994.
Judge McCartan said that the defendant had demonstrated a continuous lack of understanding of the seriousness of the situation.
He ordered that she stay away entirely from her local area and remanded her on continuing bail to July 13th.
