A woman begging at the M50 sliproad at Ballymount in Dublin has been remanded so a report can be considered before she is sentenced.

Romana Rostas’s counsel told Judge James McDonnell at Tallaght District Court her client had not been posing any danger to society.

Judge McDonnell told the Roma woman : “So begging on the sliproad of a motorway isn’t dangerous? A driver could have been distracted and a pile-up could have occurred.

“I don’t regard that as a fanciful suggestion.”
