Gardai have named the woman who was killed in a fatal road traffic accident in Co Meath yesterday.

She was Michelle Quinn with an address at Dangan, Summerhill, in Co Meath.

The 25-year-old woman died when her car collided with a truck near Summerhill shortly before 11.30 a.m.

Two other people were killed and nine others injured in road accidents in Galway and Cavan over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The death toll was down on last year's holiday weekend when five people were killed.

Mr Eamon Fahy (32), from Milltown, Co Galway, was killed when the car in which he was driving collided with another at Kiltevna crossroads in north Galway on Sunday night.

On Saturday night a cyclist in Co Cavan, Mr Kevin Tuomey (26), was killed in a collision with a car at Roebuck, Mountnugent, Co Cavan. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his remains were taken to Cavan General Hospital.
