A woman was tonight being questioned in connection with the murder of a schoolteacher and part-time publican.

A woman was tonight being questioned in connection with the murder of a schoolteacher and part-time publican.

The woman, in her early 30s, was arrested late last night in Claregalway, Co Galway.

Three men and a teenager detained over the killing of John Kenny at his bar in Oughterard, Co Galway, have been released without charge.

The males, a 17-year-old, two in their 20s and one in their 30s, were among five suspects detained yesterday.

A file on the four released men will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mr Kenny (56) was found dead at his pub in Main Street, Oughterard, Co Galway, in the early hours of Sunday September 25th.

A post-mortem examination found he died after an assault.

A 37-year-old Romanian man was remanded in custody, charged with withholding information in connection with the ongoing investigation, on Sunday.
