A US lawyer wanted in Connecticut for the murder of her brother-in-law was remanded in custody on three extradition warrants in Dublin District Court yesterday.

Ms Beth-Anne Carpenter (34), with an address at Rock Road, Blackrock, Co Dublin, is accused of capital murder, felony murder and conspiracy to murder her brother-in-law, Anson Clinton, who was shot dead in Hartford, Connecticut, in March 1994. She was arrested last week in Sandymount. She appeared briefly in court yesterday but there was no application for bail and she was remanded to Mountjoy Prison to appear again on November 27th.
