A woman who was being held in connection with the investigation into the abduction of a man in Dublin over a week ago has been freed.

The woman, who is in her 20s, was arrested in the city yesterday morning.

A Garda spokesman said she was released without charge today and file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Investigating officers have said they are “extremely concerned” for the welfare of Ciarán Noonan (29), who was abducted in East Wall a week ago last Thursday.

Mr Noonan, a father of one originally from Blanchardstown, has not been seen since he was chased, beaten and bundled into a black VW Golf car on Russell Avenue at about 4.45pm on that afternoon.

Gardaí would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a distinctive looking Black VW Golf with a spoiler on the rear, tinted windows, spoked wheels and the licence plate 05-D-88805, between the hours of 4.30 pm and 8pm on the evening of the abduction, when it was parked at an underground car park at the Killegland Apartment Complex in Ashbourne, Co Meath.

Mr Noonan is described as being of medium build with short dark brown hair and brown eyes. When last seen he was wearing a light blue hoodie, grey tracksuit bottoms and "Converse” runners.
