Gardaí have arrested a woman in connection with the murder of Rachel O'Reilly.

Gardaí have arrested a woman in connection with the murder of Rachel O'Reilly.

The woman, in her 30s, was arrested in the Dublin at 3.30pm today and is being held at Drogheda Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.

Gardaí are continuing to question a man who was arrested earlier today.

He is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and can be detained for a total of 12 hours before being released or charged.

Gardaí refused to say what age the man was or at what time he was arrested.

Ms O'Reilly (30) was found dead in her north Co Dublin home nearly two years ago. The a mother-of-two had sustained several blows to the head when she was found by her mother at her home at Baldarragh, near Naul village, on October 4th, 2004.

Gardaí discovered drawers pulled out in the kitchen and sitting room of the house, indicating a possible burglary, but there was no sign of struggle or forced entry.

Her family believe her assailant was known to her.
