A 30-year-old woman is being questioned by gardai over an alleged assault on an eight-month-old baby boy in Co Cork in August.
The woman was arrested this morning in Wilton, Cork at 11.30am over the incident which happened in Carrigaline on August 15 thlast.
She is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act in Togher Garda Station in Cork city.
Last month a 30-year-old man was questioned about the alleged assault, but was released without charge. The baby has been in hospital since August, where his conditions is believed to be stable.
