London - A 114-year-old British woman has been officially named as the oldest living woman in the world by the Guinness Book of Records.
Former domestic help Mrs Eva Morris was born in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, on November 18th, 1885. She was widowed in the 1930s and now lives at the Autumn House nursing home in nearby Stone.
A woman from Dominica, Ms Elizabeth Israel, is said to be 125 years old - but the Guinness Book of Records said Mrs Morris took the title because Ms Israel's claimed date of birth, January 27th 1875, could not be fully authenticated.
