Gardaí are investigating an alleged sex assault on a woman in her 20s near the Co Wicklow village of Enniskerry early on Sunday morning.
Gardaí in Shankill are appealing for information after the woman was found by a motorist on Military Road at around 8.30am on Sunday.
The woman had sustained injuries to the body and head and was in a very distressed state. She was taken to Tallaght Hospital for treatment and so far has been unable to give a description of her attacker.
Gardaí have established the attack took place some time between 2.20am and 8.00am on Sunday.
"Gardaí are interested in speaking with anyone who can help them establish the woman's movements after she left a late bar on Harcourt Street, Dublin 2, at approximately 2.20am," a spokeswoman said.
Gardaí are also trying to locate her black DKNY handbag and are seeking information on a blue saloon car that was seen in the Glencree area. It may have had a British or Northern Ireland registration plate.
