The Cork Film Festival continues over the weekend, bringing extra traffic to the city centre but there are no other major events likely to cause problems for motorists.

DUBLIN: Luas works continue to be the main disruption around the city. On the south side, roadworks at the Wyattville junction are causing delays on the N11. The ESB is carrying out extensive cable-laying at the city end of South Circular Road and Bord Gβis pipe-laying has reduced Griffith Avenue to one lane in each direction between Ballymun Road and Swords Road.

CORK: This is the first weekend of the two-way traffic system on South Quay. Elsewhere there are temporary closures and one-way systems associated with the main drainage scheme and restrictions on the Dublin and Waterford approaches with diversions via the North Ring Road. Roadworks also on the Inniscarra Road and Skehard Road. In the county there are works on the N25 between Midleton and Castlemartyr, the N28 between Shanbally and Ringaskiddy, in Glanworth village and in Mitchelstown where diversions will affect Dublin-bound traffic.

GALWAY: Roadworks continue at Eyre Square in the city while Upper Salthill is affected by the main drainage scheme. Upper Abbeygate Street reopens to traffic tomorrow. Around the county, there are road closures and diversions in Athenry and roadworks on the Tuam Road at Castlegar.

LIMERICK: Major delays expected at on the North Circular Road in the city, especially for traffic approaching from the Clare side.

KILDARE: Roadworks continue on the N7 between Kildare and Monasterevin.

KILKENNY: Some delays on the N24 between Waterford and Carrick-on-Suir due to bypass works.

TIPPERARY: Resurfacing works continue on the N8 at Cahir, south of Tipperary Road. Roadworks also continue on the N7 on the Nenagh side of Roscrea. Traffic is back to two lanes.

CLARE: Delays likely on the N18 at the new Dromoland interchange and road realignment works continue from Newmarket-on- Fergus to Shannon.

ROSCOMMON: Roadworks and temporary lights on the N5 between Ballaghaderreen and Carracastle are expected to cause delays. Traffic between Athlone and Castlebar likely to be affected.
