There will be major disruption to traffic tomorrow due to European Car-Free Day. Ten urban centres across the State are restricting traffic for the event.
Cork and Galway are closing the majority of their central streets, but in Dublin only a short stretch at the Customs House and the Merrion Square West area will be closed.
Limerick and Waterford will close some streets, but traffic will still be able to negotiate the cities.
DUBLIN
The ESB will be carrying out major works on South Circular Road (Harcourt Road) between Dolphin Avenue and Harrington Street until further notice.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane in either direction between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. Major delays are expected.
Benburb Street will be one-way into the city centre between Parkgate Street and Blackhall Place to facilitate construction of Luas.
South Clondalkin quality bus corridor work continues during off-peak times, affecting St Mary's Road in Crumlin.
OFFALY
Long delays are expected as pipeline work on the N62 through Ferbane means traffic is being diverted via Tullamore southbound.
Construction work continues on the Pilltown-Fiddown bypass on the N24 between Waterford and Carrick-on-Suir. Expect delays.
CORK
Roadworks continue on the N22 in Ballincollig between Poulavane Roundabout and Moremiles Tyres until Monday.
Roadworks will continue on the N28 between Shanbally and Ringaskiddy until November. Passengers taking the ferry from Ringaskiddy are advised to leave plenty of time for the journey.
CLARE
Roadworks will be in operation on the N18 at the new Dromoland interchange (Latoon Cross). Delays are likely.
WATERFORD
Roadworks will be in operation on the N25 at Rathsillagh until at least October.
LIMERICK
Roadworks are in place on the North Circular Road at the convent for the next couple of weeks - expect major delays, especially coming from the Clare side.
SLIGO
Roadworks have started on the N15 north of Grange and will be in place until at least mid October. Single lane traffic and temporary lights will be in place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.
MONAGHAN
Resurfacing work will take place on the N2 in Castleblayney until the end of the month. Delays are likely and a traffic diversion will be in place via Ballybay and Carrickmacross. Some details courtesy of AA Roadwatch
