Heavy demand for trains to Sunday's All-Ireland Hurling Championship quarter finals in Croke Park has caused Iarnrod Eireann to introduce a capped ticketing system.

Match-goers intending to travel on services from Galway or Cork will have to obtain a "control card" ahead of their journey. Cards are free of charge from InterCity stations.

The Croke Park doubleheader of Limerick v Wexford and Galway v Derry will also cause road congestion on Sunday.

Horse racing at the Curragh and the World Rally Masters at Punchestown Racecourse, both in Co Kildare, mean delays are likely on the N7, M7 and M9.
