Dublin:
Work is under way on the Swords Quality Bus Corridor and will affect traffic on Beaumont Road, Lower Drumcondra Road, Collins Avenue and the Swords Road. Work on the Rathfarnham QBC has also started and will continue until September on Clanbrassil Street Upper, Harold's Cross Road, Terenure Road North and Rathfarnham Road. Roadworks will continue on QBCs in Clondalkin.
Drainage work will be carried out until June on Jervis Street from the Mary Street junction to Parnell Street junction, with traffic reduced to one lane.
Stocking Lane in Rathfarnham will remain closed until the end of April with an alternative route available through Edmondstown Road and Mount Venus Road.
Meath:
Major roadworks and speed ramps are in place on the N4 Dublin-Galway route between Enfield and Kilcock.
Kildare:
Roadworks are about to start on the N7 through Monasterevin, resulting in one-way traffic for up to six weeks and major diversions on the Portlaoise side of the town.
Carlow:
Extensive roadworks are in place one mile north of Carlow at the junction of the N80 Portlaoise road and the N9 Dublin road until the end of March.
Limerick:
Roadworks in Adare will continue until the end of February with a diversion for Kerry-bound traffic. Major disruption can be expected.
Kilkenny:
Work on the N8 Cork-Dublin road at Johnstown will continue until the end of March, with delays inevitable.
Cork:
Parnell Place in Cork city is closed to traffic again, which will cause major delays, while work on the Cork Main Drainage Scheme has resulted in the closure of Grattan Street between Henry Street and Bachelor's Quay until early March.
Waterford:
A drainage scheme has resumed on the N25 at the Quay opposite Gladstone Street. Traffic will be restricted to two lanes and the quay in the city should be avoided. Work will continue until late 2000.
Rail Travel:
Major track improvement is under way on the Mallow-Tralee line with disruption of services to mid-March.
Bus transfers will run between Tralee and Mallow stations.
Until March 9th, track-improvement work is being carried out on the Dublin-Sligo route between Edgeworthstown and Carrick-on-Shannon.
Some services will be suspended, and alternative bus transport will be provided from Monday to Thursday and on Saturday each week.
Air Travel:
Aer Rianta anticipates that more than 136,000 passengers will pass through Dublin Airport this weekend. An additional 52 sun and ski charter flights have been added to the normal weekend schedule.
With over 1,05O passenger aircraft movements during this time, passengers are advised to allow sufficient time to reach the airport and for check-in.
