Jimmy McGeough's Premier Division newcomers had the chance to leapfrog Shelbourne, who play Dublin rivals at Tolka Park tomorrow, but came away with nothing after their marathon trip to Derry.
The visitors fell behind midway through the first-half but fought back to level on the stroke of half-time through Willie Byrne.
