Washington - People who suffer from classic migraine, which is marked not by only piercing headaches but by "auras" such as sensations of lights, voices or numbness, may have a higher risk of stroke, doctors have reported.
The study found that nearly 50 per cent of people who have migraine headaches with aura also have a condition known as patent foramen ovale, a potentially dangerous opening in the heart. Writing in the journal Neurology, Dr Gian Paolo Anzola of the University of Brescia in Italy, said patients needed to be warned.
