The British and Irish governments have appointed Mr Frank Murray as Commissioner of the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims' Remains.

Mr Murray is currently Chairman of the Public Appointments Service and is a former secretary general to the Government. He replaces John Wilson who has recently retired.

The Independent Commission for the Location of Victims' Remains was set up in 1999 by the two governments to facilitate the location of the remains of victims of violence in Northern Ireland, otherwise known as "The Disappeared".
