A motorcyclist in his first year of competitive racing died following a crash during a race at Mondello Park last October, an inquest at Dublin City Coroner's Court was told yesterday.

Mr Tristan Moran (20), Whitechurch Park, Ballyboden, Dublin, a student at Trinity College, was competing in a race meeting organised by the Loughshinney Motorcycle Supporters Club on October 10th when he lost control of his machine. He was pronounced dead at Beaumont Hospital on October 12th and a post mortem showed he suffered severe head injuries.

The jury returned a verdict of accidental death and recommended the management of Mondello Park look into safety at the track and consider issuing two-way radios to race marshals.
