A High Court judge has warned three late-night Dublin venues they may be prevented playing certain music unless alleged royalty arrears of €90,000 for the years up to 2007 are paid within two months.

Phonographic Performance Ireland (PPI) brought proceedings yesterday for injunctions restraining the playing of its members recordings by Krystle Nightclub; Dicey Reilys Garden Bar and Beer Garden; and BoJo’s 35, all located at the Russell Court Hotel, Harcourt Street.

The PPI said the action arose from alleged failure to pay arrears related to the playing of recordings. The defendants – Triglen Holdings Ltd, Regines Hotels Ltd, and their directors Ramanthan Arulchelvan, Greygates, Mount Merrion, Dublin and Eileen Wright, Clyde Lane, Ballsbridge, Dublin – opposed the injunction application and denied the PPI’s claims.
