Minister for Transport Leo Varadkar confirmed yesterday that the €3 travel tax would be retained
but would be reviewed in the
spring.
Mr Varadkar said the tax would be suspended subject to a deal being reached with airlines to reinstate cancelled routes and restore lost capacity.

“I am disappointed that it was not possible to come to an agreement with the airlines,” he said.
Ryanair rejected the statement, saying it had submitted a “solid commitment” to deliver
up to 5 million additional passengers per year
over a five-year period.
