New York - Van Gogh's Canal with Washerwoman was sold for $20 million here late last night at Christie's spring art sale.
A Claude Monet painting of Waterloo Bridge shrouded in fog was auctioned for more than £5.7 million at Sotheby's in New York earlier. The painting is entitled Waterloo Bridge, Effet de Brouillard.
Another Monet, an oil painting from his "Haystack" series, fetched the top price in the auction, selling for £7,355,000.
